Fürth Pirates

The Fürth Pirates are a baseball team from the Burgfarrnbach district of Fürth . The team currently plays in the 2nd Bundesliga Southeast. After barely reaching promotion in 2018, the team was able to return to the second division perfectly in 2019. Most recently they played in the second highest German division in 2016. The team celebrated their greatest success in 2004 when they reached the final of the German Championship , which they lost to the series champion Paderborn Untouchables . In the 2005 season, the playoffs were reached again. This time the Fürth team failed in three games against the later runner-up Solingen Alligators .

The withdrawal of the main sponsor before the 2006 season led to the loss of a number of regular employees, which the people of Fürth could not compensate. At the end of the season, both the Bundesliga team and the second and third Pirates team were relegated. After relegating to the regional league in 2007, the Pirates voluntarily relegated to the Bavarian league in 2008, but could be promoted back to the regional league in 2009.

The association is also known for its good youth work. He won repeatedly at the Bavarian championships and was also at the top of the German championships. In addition, the club traditionally provides many players for the Bavarian national teams and national teams.
