Baseball Bundesliga 1995

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Baseball Bundesliga 1995 was the 12th season of the Baseball Bundesliga . The Trier Cardinals won their first German championship title by beating the Lokstedt Stealers in the final . Defending champion Mannheim Tornados did not reach a play-off spot for the first time since the Bundesliga was founded.

Regular season

The mode remained unchanged compared to the previous year: eight teams each played in the two seasons North and South to participate and place in the seed lists for the play-offs , in which the German baseball champions 1995 were then played in the knockout system .

1. Bundesliga North

The Hannover Regents and the Elmshorn Alligators rose for the Hamburg Marines and Stade Mustangs, who were relegated in the previous season . Both teams had to accept the direct relegation with the placements 7 and 8 after the regular season.

The North relay was won by the Lokstedt Stealers, as in the two previous years, with the Köln Cardinals finishing second. The two other play-off places were safely taken by the St. Pauli Knights and the Düsseldorf Senators. The two Berlin clubs Challengers and Sluggers ended the season in the no man's land of the table in places 5 and 6.

The Bonn Capitals narrowly missed the play-offs in their first season in the Bundesliga, but were still ahead of the disappointing defending champions of the Mannheim Tornados.
