Baseball Bundesliga 1986
The Baseball Bundesliga 1985 was the third season of the Baseball Bundesliga . The championship was secured for the third time in three years by the Mannheim Tornados, which made them the only winner of a German baseball championship after the introduction of the Bundesliga in 1984. For the third time, a team from Cologne, the Cologne Dodgers, was runner-up.
Competition mode and participants
As in the previous year, the 1985 Baseball Bundesliga was played on a single track with a round trip. Double headers were played on each day of the match, meaning that the teams played two games in a row.
As in the previous year, seven teams took part in the match, with the Mannheim Amigos, the Munich Brewers and the Heidelberg Lions replacing the Mannheim Elite Giants, the Wiesbaden team and the Filderstadt Flyers. The Heidelberg Lions took part in the game operations out of competition.
Closing table
The season was only decided on the last day of the match with the match between the Mannheim Tornados and Cologne Dodgers, who had tied for points. Mannheim was able to clearly win the first game 16: 5 and finally secure the championship with a 6: 4 victory in the second game.
