The German Baseball Bundesliga 2016 was the 33rd season of the Baseball Bundesliga . The regular playing time started on April 2nd and ended on July 30th. From August 6th to October 2nd, the German champions were determined in the play-offs and the relegated players in the play-downs . Heidenheim Heideköpfe started the season as defending champions . Compared to the previous season, there was no change in the composition of the league, as no team from the 2nd Bundesliga exercised the right to promotion. Thus, the North Division played with 7 teams, the South Division with 8 teams.
