With the exception of “The Sea And Sand”, the album only contains cover versions . Unlike their previous albums, which mostly of ballads and show songs exist, this album also includes songs from the rock and pop genre of.

The title song "Something" was released before the album was released in June 1970. It moved up to number 4 in the UK charts and stayed in the top 50 for 21 weeks. In the USA the single reached number 55 and number 6 on the easy-listening charts In Germany she reached number 40 in the singles charts. It was the biggest success to date for Shirley Bassey and was more successful in England than the Beatles' single of the same name . Further singles were the songs The "Sea And Sand" and "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?" (As B-side of the single "Fool On The Hill").
