action

Mary and Fred Wilson live a financially worry-free upper-middle-class life in Denver . Fred focuses on his work as a tax attorney while Mary runs the household and takes care of the teenage daughter Marge. Mary is bored with the daily routine of their marriage. She drinks and watches television. Shortly before the Wilsons' 16th wedding anniversary, Mary breaks out of her usual world. On the spur of the moment she booked a plane ticket to Nassau . On the way there she meets her old school friend Flo, who is also flying to the Bahamas to meet her lover Sam. In Nassau, Mary is immediately courted by the attractive Franco. But Franco is only after the money of a seemingly lonely woman. When Mary confesses to him that she is without any money herself, he lets go of her. For Mary this experience is just another hurt to her soul. She begins to rethink her life. She had already attempted suicide in her marriage and began to drink heavily afterwards. Out of frustration, she began to buy dearly, which led to husband Fred blocking her credit cards. At home, Fred also thinks about their future together. He decides to call Mary and apologize for his mistakes. When her friend Flo decides to accept a marriage proposal from Sam, Mary eventually returns to Denver. However, she must quickly realize that Fred was just afraid for his reputation. He sees a functioning marriage as a status symbol. Therefore, Mary does not return home, but rents a small apartment and takes a job. Attending an evening school should give your life a new twist and a new meaning. One evening she meets her husband Fred again. The marriage to Fred could also have a future through mutual changes.
