Classes
At the Paralympic sailing competitions, a distinction was only made between classes in order to ensure the team's balance. The athletes were classified according to the degree of disability with up to seven points, with seven points being awarded to the less disabled athletes. The classification was different depending on the discipline.
competition | boat | Classification |
---|---|---|
One-man keelboat | 2.4mR | All sailors must have a minimum handicap or a greater handicap, as stipulated in the statutes of the FCS 2008-12. |
Two-man keelboat | SKUD 18 | The couple should consist of at least one woman, and one of the sailors should have a maximum of 1–2 points (severe disability). |
Three-man keelboat | sonar | Three sailors were not allowed to exceed a total of 14 points. |
Results
A total of 80 athletes took part in the Paralympic sailing competitions. Women and men started mixed in the three trips.
One-man keelboat ( 2.4mR )
