Sonnhilde Kallus , née Hausschild (born September 1, 1935 in Nassau , † June 20, 2007 ) was a German cross-country skier .

Sonnhilde Kallus, who comes from Nassau in the Eastern Ore Mountains, attended elementary school from 1942 to 1950. After that, she joined her parents' farm. At BSG Traktor Nassau she began to take part in ski competitions. She won her first competition in 1951 in her hometown. In 1954 she switched to SC Dynamo Klingenthal . It was particularly successful in the second half of the 1950s. From 1955 to 1957 she was GDR champion over 10 kilometers three times in a row. In 1956 she also won the title with the Klingenthal relay. Still under her birth name Hausschild it launched in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo for the first time in Olympic Winter Games . Over ten kilometers, she was 20th at the same time with her teammate Else Amann , and seventh with her and Elfriede Spiegelhauer in the relay race. Since their wedding in October 1956, she started under her married name Kallus. At the 1958 World Championships in Lahti , she finished 11th over ten kilometers, and came in sixth in the relay. Also in 1960 in Squaw Valley she competed in these two disciplines. Over ten kilometers, Kallus was 18th, with Rita Czech-Blasel and Renate Borges fifth in the relay competition. The 1962 World Championships in Zakopane were their last major international championships. She finished 11th over five kilometers, 12th place over ten kilometers and fifth place with the relay. After finishing her sporting career, she worked in agriculture.
