history

In its distribution areas of Stuttgart , Ulm and Rhein-Neckar-Dreieck , it was delivered to subscribers of the partner newspapers on Sundays and since January 17, 2010 it has also been available at the kiosk.

By the end of 2006, Die Rheinpfalz from Ludwigshafen and the Pirmasenser Zeitung had also participated; they still got the travel part delivered.

In July 2009 it was announced that the editorial office would be closed at the end of the year. Christoph Grote , editor-in-chief of the Stuttgarter Nachrichten , was commissioned to develop a new concept. Most of the editors of Sonntag Aktuell switched to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten, whose editors had been creating the newspaper since it was published on January 17, 2010 until it was discontinued on March 27, 2016. Since then, it has contained more family and leisure-oriented content. The large part of the trip, which made up about a third of the total scope, was retained. In each issue a political or socially critical column appeared, which was written alternately by different journalists, among others. a. by Susanne Offenbach, who was involved from the first edition until September 6, 2015. There was also the satirical column “Things of the Week”.

The last edition of the newspaper was discontinued on Easter Sunday 2016, March 27, 2016.
