season 1

The club's warehouse is blown up, killing two illegal immigrants from Mexico.

The daughter of a respected, very wealthy family disappears at the fair and is raped. Jax and the Sons of Anarchy find the culprit and suspect who the attacker might be. When the Sons track down the rapist, they give the girl's father an opportunity to take bloody revenge. Clay turns the situation into leverage, a method Jax disagrees with. Wendy has gone through detox and is on the mend. In the hospital, Gemma shows her hard and soft side.

The arrival of an ATF investigator in Charming puts the club under pressure. The weapons, which are temporarily stored in the clubhouse, have to be removed in order not to be found during a search. Jax drives to Nevada with Bobby to organize a new gun stash for the Devil's Tribe motorcycle club. Clay follows them and integrates the Devil's Tribe Club as a new chapter in the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club.

Gemma is organizing the annual fundraiser when April, ex-wife of former Sons member Kyle, approaches her and asks if Kyle can come. Kyle had left Opie behind after an arson attack, which led to Opie's arrest and his expulsion from the club. Clay lets the Sons vote on it, and to his surprise, most vote to allow Kyle to attend the event. In addition, the Sons deal with Chuck, who still owes them money for the protection offered in prison. When he is released, the Sons take him to the clubhouse. Chuck, who disturbingly always starts to masturbate when he's nervous, reveals the hiding place of his prey. Tara receives a visit from ATF investigator Kohn, who turns out to be her ex-boyfriend in the course of the conversation.

Clay makes the leader of the Nordics and the Mayans an offer of peaceful coexistence. Opie volunteers for a contract killing intended to wash money into the club's coffers.

While Bobby, Tig and Piney start a diversionary maneuver, Jax and Chief Unser sneak into the police station, talk to Luann and free Cherry. Stahl's perfidious plan does not work, the Sons are one step ahead.

Jax and Piney, however, suspect the truth. Gemma is kidnapped and raped by several masked men.

Then the Sons decide to get into the porn film business. Tig, plagued by guilt, tries to stand by Opie. An arms deal with the 9ers is disrupted by the Mayans, Bobby is injured.

Three weeks after the attack, the traumatized Gemma is still silent, which leads to relationship problems with Clay. The head of the league, Zobelle, confronts Hale with Chief Our's friendship with the Sons and suggests a solution to the Sons problem. Clay and Jax are becoming more and more confrontational. Darby begins to deal and cook drugs in Charming, which the Sons don't like at all. Hale lets Zobelle exploit him and the Sons blow up Darby's drug kitchen. Bobby reveals that Luann has cheated the club out of a lot of money for years.

Gemma pursues Weston after recognizing one of her rapists.

Except for Opie, the hard core of the Sons is locked in jail. The deposit does not have to be paid and the process is delayed. Clay must find new allies to protect his men and buy protection. After Juice involuntarily served as bait for an act of revenge, he is stabbed in the courtyard. Agent Stahl is back in town, and Clay and Jax's conflict culminates in a fight. Oswald pays the bail and the men are released.

The Sons avenge the break-in and Opie makes it clear that Lyla belongs to him from now on. Zobelle does business with the Mayans and Luann is found slain in the ditch.

Clay wants to get out of the porn business, Jax is against it and puts the continuation of the production company to a vote. Chibs doesn't want to be moved to another hospital. League members and Darby set fire to the hall where the porn films are shot.

Gemma tells Clay and Jax about her rape.

Clay takes up the fight against the league and for this purpose has talks with the Chinese, Irish and the 9ers. Stahl falls into a trap and embarrasses herself when she tries to break a deal. Hale arrests Weston over the porn production fire.

Cameron, for his part, takes revenge for his son's murder - believing it was Gemma. He kills Half-Sack and kidnaps Abel.

Half-Sack's wake ends with blood and shots are fired. Deputy Chief Hale is run over by the fleeing attackers. Hayes arrives in Belfast with Abel.

Nate's nurse Amelia finds out that Gemma is wanted - and is then taken hostage by Gemma.

Maureen, an Irish woman who Abel has taken in, reveals a shared past with Jax's father. Gemma's demented father runs away and Jax trades porn actresses for weapons with Lin. Amelia knocks Tara down and tries to escape. In the process, she dies as a result of unfortunate circumstances. Lin's porn party ends in a fiasco because Opie cannot cope with Lyla's participation.

The Sons accept three new prospects, Happy finally changes to the Samcro chapter, while Kozik's application is rejected by Tig. The raid on a Mayan heroin shipment goes smoothly. Contrary to the deal, Gemma tells almost the entire truth about the Polly and Edmond murders - but in a crucial part she lies. Tara and Jax sell the captured antiviral drugs and are watched by Darby, who immediately puts Jacob Hale into the drug trade for the Sons. Tig and Kozik kill one of the shooters in the drive-by shoot. Jax ends the relationship with Tara and sleeps with Ima that same night.

Tara looks for an abortion clinic for Lyla and accompanies her to her appointment.

When the Sons inform Chief Unser of Darby's confession, Unser does not want to investigate Hale. When Jimmy unexpectedly turns up at Maureen's house, Gemma sees her chance to sort things out. But Fiona interferes. An attack on the Sons ends with several deaths in the Irish chapter. Salazar kidnaps Tara and Margaret Murphy.

Tig, Piney and Kozik are supposed to kill the Mayan president, Alvarez, and pay a ransom for Tara and Margaret's life. Clay pushes McGee off the roof of the warehouse for betraying the Sons. Gemma and Maureen find themselves forced to tell Jax and Trinity the truth about John Teller.

Jax finds Abel, who has already been adopted by an Irish couple. Jax watches Abel and his adoptive parents and concludes that Father Ashby is right: Abel is better off this way. Jimmy kidnaps Abel to secure his escape to America and kills the adoptive parents. The money transfer in Charming goes completely wrong. Tara seriously injures Salazar's friend with a shard of a mirror and demands Margaret's release for medical help. Father Ashby trades in with Jimmy for Abel. Maureen smuggles a bundle of letters into Jax's luggage.

Abel and Gemma return home, and Clay sets out to prove that the murder of Lumpy was commissioned by Hale. Jax discusses the Jimmy case with Agent Stahl and tries to find Tara, who is still missing. Gemma talks to Stahl about her deal, which she wants to break. Salazar holed up in Hale's office with Tara and Hale as hostages. Salazar says he wants to swap Tara for Jax, but plans to murder both of them. Hale manages to wound Salazar and Jax kills him. During the hostage situation, Stahl shoots her partner Amy and blames an unspecified gang for the murder. In her testimony, Stahl accuses the dead Amy of the murder of Edmond Hayes and thus confirms Gemma's statement. Tig votes against Kozik again and Opie proposes to Lyla.

Clay tells Gemma about the deal with the Irish, then Gemma turns in and talks to Stahl. Lenny finds out Jimmy's whereabouts and arranges an exchange: Jimmy for two million dollars. This presents the Sons with a big problem in the short term. But Chuck has a solution and the handover is going according to plan for the Sons. In the end, the Sons manage to get rid of Agent Stahl who ripped off Jax. Chibs and Opie take the long-awaited revenge.

Season 4

The Sons are released from prison after 14 months. The first time he meets the Sons, the new Sheriff Roosevelt explains how he thinks things should go. Assistant Attorney Potter introduces himself to Roosevelt. Clay negotiates a new deal with the Russians. Chief Unser, who now lives in a trailer, is visited by Gemma, who is very worried about him. Jax proposes marriage to Tara, but Tara has concerns about the children and Jax's way of life. Lyla and Opie get married. During the celebration, the Russians get rid of their sons.

Clay finds a new partner in the gun business, Romeo. That deal also includes the transportation of cocaine for the Mayans. Jax doesn't like this deal at all - the conflicts with Clay flare up again and Jax announces that he wants to get out of the club. Entering the drug business divides the club. Bobby is openly against Clay. Gemma looks for the letters Maureen had slipped Jax, finds them and reads them. Roosevelt terrorizes the club, while Opie and Jax were taken hostage by the Russians and a short time later are rescued by Romeo.

Kozik has the truck with the arms delivery stolen while some of the Sons in Oswald's warehouse are already preparing the next deliveries. Prosecutor Potter is already on the trail of the Sons and orders that Juice be targeted. Gemma is still after the letters and tells Tara about Jax's father. Roosevelt has Juice arrested and tries to manipulate him. Clay lets the club vote on the drug courier job and just wins.

Even the first drug shipment does not go off without a hitch. Potter arranges a chance meeting with Gemma and introduces himself with a false name. Clay has to crack down on the SAMTAZ chapter in Arizona because this club is deeply involved in drug deals. The Sons visit Reggie, a former SAMTAZ member, to get some information from him. Piney is also trying to get John Teller's letters. Gemma makes contact with Roosevelt's wife, Rita. Potter visits Otto in prison and tells him that Bobby slept with her shortly before Luann's death.

Roosevelt continues to pressurize Juice while Gemma visits Otto in prison. Clay and Gemma worry that the real culprits in John Teller's deaths might be exposed by Piney or Tara. Juice steals a packet of cocaine from the storage room on behalf of Roosevelt. Opie finds out that Lyla is secretly using contraception and then sleeps with Ima. Bobby visits Otto in prison and apologizes for his affair with Luann.

The missing packet of cocaine gets the club in big trouble. Tig's daughter Dawn comes to visit and Ima shakes up the clubhouse. Jax lets the Prospects play Russian roulette to test their loyalty to the club. When Juice tries to bring the cocaine back, Miles catches him and shoots him after a short fight. Bobby and Gemma find out that Dawn just wants to take Tig out. Clay orders a hit man from Romeo. Opie moves into the clubhouse after Lyla confesses to having an abortion. Ours is putting a death threat in Tara's car.

Another drive-by shoot, this time in Alvarez's drug laboratory and initiated by the Lobos cartel, and the death threat against Tara keep the Sons in suspense. The driver's pursuit ends in a bloody fiasco. Tara tends to Alvarez's gunshot wound and talks to Roosevelt, who received an anonymous tip about the threat. Roosevelt has Juice give him the cocaine sample and then arrests him for drug possession. Lyla packed her things and is gone. Bobby demands a vote on the post of president and is once again openly against Clay. Juice tries to hang herself.

Juice's attempted suicide fails. The Sons come together to vote on the presidency, which is disrupted by another drive-by shoot by the Lobos. Gemma makes Clay promise not to do anything to Tara.

Gemma, suspecting what Clay has done, confronts him, and an argument ensues. Clay knocks Gemma down. Tara fears that she will no longer be able to use her shattered hand. Roosevelt apologizes to Juice.

Potter visits Otto again and negotiates with him about Otto's statement. When Clay and Romeo and their men want to attack the Lobos, they end up in a minefield. Kozik steps on a mine and dies. Opie, Tig and Bobby take care of Georgie. After seeing Gemma's injuries, Tig breaks up with Clay and resigns as a sergeant at arms. Opie finds Piney's body, Unser explains what happened.

Gemma hands Jax the letters and tells him an embellished version of the events surrounding John Teller's death. Jax decides that Clay must die - and Tara tells him how.

The arms deal with the Irish is protected by the CIA, Romeo and Luis turn out to be CIA agents. However, the trade collapses as Galen insists on a stake in Clay, who is still in intensive care. Potter releases Juice from prison unscathed and with a clean file. Romeo and Luis strongly advise Jax to get Clay back on his feet, otherwise they would support the RICO operation. They also demand that Jax stay with the club. Potter drops Hale's construction project by revealing the truth about Hale's investor at the crucial meeting. Jax takes over the post of president and offers Opie the vice presidency.

The sheriff has suspicions about the stress with the 9ers, but the sons deny everything when the sheriff visits. Jax makes Bobby vice president. Clay confesses to Piney's murder in front of the club, but hides most of the truth. Pope, whose daughter was run over by Tig, shows how he intends to run his business in the future. In front of Tig's eyes he burns his daughter Dawn alive. Ours warns Jax when there is an arrest warrant against him, Chibs and Tig.

Carla kidnaps Gemma and Nero and then commits suicide in front of them. The Sons find the jailer responsible for Opie's death and take bloody revenge.

Roosevelt has two cops bring Juice to the station to tell him Jax knows about the betrayal. Chibs is privy to what goes on in the club and in return reveals Juice's secret. The Sons go on the hunt for Opie's murderer, and it turns out that an old alliance could break if Jax insists on revenge. Clay talks to Romeo and Luis about the RICO process. Otto kills a nurse in order to fall out of the RICO procedure.
