Soothsayer ( English " fortune teller ") is a Canadian thrash metal band from Beauport , Québec , which was founded in 1985, separated in 1990 and reorganized in 2007.
history
The band was formed in January 1986. In October of the same year they recorded their first demo together called To Be a Real Terrorist . Their first album, titled Have a Good Time , was recorded in late 1989 and released in 1990 on New Renaissance Records . The band split in 1990. They had appearances with many well-known bands such as Nuclear Assault , Sacrifice , Aggression , Possessed , Kreator , Slaughter , Dead Brain Cells and Crumbsuckers during their active time .
In 2007 the band got back together and released the album Troops Fight Back in 2011 on Galy Records .
style
In Slayer , the demo recording style was described as "intense Thrash with a bit of hardcore ". Bass and drums are not only accompanying instruments, but have just as much a determining role in the composition as the guitar. The band cites Slayer , Raw Power , DRI , Sacrifice , Kreator and SOD as influences on Myspace .
