biography

Sophie Lefranc started for the ski club from Megève and began her career with assignments in FIS races and in the European Cup . Although she had no points to show in the World Cup , she was able to take part in the 1992 Winter Olympics in her closer home around Albertville . She won World Cup points for the first time on November 28, 1992 when she was tenth in the Park City giant slalom .

Eleven months later, Lefranc achieved her best World Cup result on October 31, 1993 when she finished second in Sölden . As a result, their performances were very unbalanced, several results among the top ten were offset by numerous failures. In her last season, 1997/98 , she was the most constant: over the whole winter she was the seventh best giant slalom runner in the world, in addition to the fifth place in this discipline at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano .

In March 1998 she announced her retirement from top-class sport. She was married to the former ski racer Adrien Duvillard , with whom she had twin daughters and a son. On April 22, 2017, Sophie Lefranc-Duvillard succumbed to a long illness.
