Sophie Dunsing
Sophie Dunsing (after marriage to Sophie Paul ; born October 1, 1987 in Berlin ) is a German rowing woman from the Energie Berlin sports club, rowing department in Berlin-Köpenick.
Her greatest successes are winning the bronze medal at the European Championships in 2007 in double sculls , winning the gold medal at the U23 World Championships in 2008 in double sculls and winning the silver medal at the European Championships in 2013 in eight with helmsman .
Dunsing qualified for the national team for the first time in 2006. At the U23 World Championships in Hazewinkel , she finished sixth in the single . Also in 2007 she was a member of the U23 national team, in double fours she reached fourth place in Strathclyde . Later that year she won bronze with the German double foursome at the European Championships in Poznań .
After her first World Cup start in a single, in which she finished 15th in Munich, Dunsing and Tina Manker won in 2008 in a double scull at the U23 World Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel . In addition, she was nominated for the European Championships taking place in Schinias near Athens and took fourth place in the double foursome. In 2009 Dunsing started again at the World Cup in Munich in single and came in eighth. In the final World Cup on the Rotsee in Lucerne she sat in the victorious German quadruple sculls, launched due to personnel changes in the in Poznan held world championships with Manker in the double sculls, reaching eighth place.
In 2010 Sophie Dunsing started in the second German double quad at the World Cup in Munich and reached fifth place. In addition, she finished 11th in the single at the World Cup in Lucerne. In the further course of the season she was nominated in the single for the European Championships in Montemor-o-Velho and reached second place in the B final, which corresponds to eighth place overall. Participation in the World Championships on Lake Karapiro in New Zealand was a highlight . There she won the B-final and thus finished seventh.
