Sos Enattos

The Miniera di Sos Enattos (also Son Enattos) is a museum mine in the province of Nuoro in northeastern Sardinia .

Monte Albo

The mine on the slopes of Monte Albo , which was already used by the Romans, was closed in 1997 and converted into a museum mine in 2007. It is located in the Sos Enattos-Guzzwra Geopark and is now part of the UNESCO- recognized Parco Geominerario Storico e Ambientale della Sardegna project . The access is on the road from Nuoro to Lula , opposite the junction to the San Francesco pilgrimage church . The sign Miniera Rimisa indicates an abandoned mine . An asphalt road leads past a stone factory.

history

Sos Enattos has been characterized by ditches, shafts and tunnels since Roman times . In 1940 that was Miniera di Sos Enattos established to 80 m depth galena and sphalerite promote here in a Quarzflöz are embedded.
