Soulé (company)
Soule is a French manufacturer of rail vehicles . The company, based in Bagnères-de-Bigorre , was family-owned for a long time. In 1992, the rail vehicle construction was taken over by the Compagnie de chemins de fer départementaux and continued under the name Constructions ferroviaires de Bagnères , later CFD Bagnères . The plant has been part of the Spanish CAF group since 2010 .
history
The company was founded in 1862 and initially produced sheet metal products in a small workshop. From 1913, a joinery was added that built wooden car bodies for tram vehicles. With this, the company started building railways and later also manufactured vehicles made of metal. It was a manufacturer of diesel railcars that run on narrow-gauge routes in France, but also built vehicles for African countries and the regular- gauge Breton network .
