Soul Rape is an Italian progressive death metal band from Varese that was formed in 2007.
history
The band was founded in 2007 by guitarist Lorenzo "Larry" Ferioli and drummer Maurizio "Maui" Giudici. In the same year the line-up was supplemented by bassist Giulio "Guglio" Cazzani and singer Moloch. In April 2008 the first demo called Primodial Paradox was recorded in the Diana Studio by Davide "Axhell" Colombo . After their first concert, Daniele “Tambo” Tamborini joined them in January 2009 as the second guitarist. After Moloch left the group, Tamborini also took over the vocals. In 2010 the line-up changed again when Giudici left them and was replaced by Pietro Battanta aka Peter Bat. The band then went back to the studio in July 2010, this time at the Dedolor Recording Studio in Turate , to record the second demo, which was titled Gargoyles . In 2011 bassist Cazzani left the band so that he had more time to improve his cello playing . Dema was added to replace it. After several concerts, Soul Rape began recording the drums for her debut album in September 2012 at the Reclab Studio in Milan with Larsen Premoli as producer. The rest was recorded at Omega Studio with producer Alex Azzali , with Cazzani returning to the band as bassist. The album was released in 2015 on Punishment 18 Records under the name Endless Reign . Dan Seagraveis and Jess Loomis can be heard as guest musicians .

Joshua Bulleid from metal-observer.com wrote in his review of Endless Reign that the music borders on Progressive Death Metal and makes use of groups like Atheist , Decrepit Birth and above all Death . The song Illusion & Sufferance reminds with its riffs of the death albums Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance . The singing brings back memories of Abbath , Thomas Gabriel Fischer and Conrad Lant . According to metalbleedingcorp.com , the band integrated riffs from death , melodic, thrash and traditional heavy metal into their progressive death metal on the album .
