South Cambridgeshire is a district in the county of Cambridgeshire in England . It surrounds the city of Cambridge . The administrative seat is Cambourne , until 2004 South Cambridgeshire was also administered from Cambridge.

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was the result of the merger of the rural districts of Chesterton and South Cambridgeshire.
