South Mimms (also South Mymms ) is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire . It is part of the Borough of Hertsmere .
history
Together with Potter's Bar , South Mimms was part of the County of Middlesex until it became part of Greater London in 1965 . Until then, South Mimms was the northernmost village in Middlesex. During World War II lived Wilhelmina of the Netherlands in South Mimms. Two of their bodyguards were killed in an air raid on the village. A building within the village was used as a sanatorium for people with tuberculosis for a long time .

South Mimms is close to a junction between the M25 motorway , which circles London , and the A1 trunk road , which connects London to Edinburgh . The motorway service station at this intersection is named after the place. The nearest railway station is located in Potters Bar. From there you can reach with trains of the company First Capital Connect the King's Cross station in central London and King's Lynn in Norfolk .
