The Sovetsky Prospectus ( Russian Советский проспект ; German: "Soviet Prospect") is one of seven prospectuses in the city of Kaliningrad .

The route of the approximately 5 km long road is described from the city center in a north-west direction. The road begins at Ploschtschad Pobedy and joins the A192 motorway .

The street in the district of Vorderhufen was called “ Fuchsberger Chaussee” and later “ Stresemannstraße ”. In the time of National Socialism it was called " General-Litzmann- Strasse"; The Gestapo offices in Königsberg were located in No. 3–7 .

Former police headquarters

The building of the former police headquarters is located on Sovetsky Prospect 3–5 and is used by the FSB . The building was built around 1912/1924 in the neo-renaissance style based on designs by Geh. Oberbaurates Launer under the direction of Geh. Oberbaurat Fürstenau built.

Former Raiffeisenhaus

The Raiffeisenhaus at General-Litzmann-Straße 27-33 in Vorderhufen was built in 1936/37 based on designs by architects Siegfried Saßnick and Helmut Flotow . The building was commissioned by the main trading company of East Prussian agricultural cooperatives mb H. The building was named after the social reformer and namesake of the Raiffeisen organization , Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen .

The facade of the Raiffeisenhaus was finished with a yellowish fine plaster, while the base and window frames were made of dark gray artificial stone.

At the main entrance there were two 3.20 m high bronze sculptures by the sculptor Franz Andreas Threyne (mostly just FA Threyne). They are allegories of sowing and reaping. In the foyer there were stained glass with East Prussian motifs by the painter Ernst Schaumann . On the first floor there was a painting by Manfred Steinert on the wall of the stairs , who also furnished the conference room with pictures.

The building has been preserved and now houses an office of the Kaliningrad city administration.

A long row of buildings on Sovetsky Prospect was built according to plans by Dmitri Nawachilin in the style of socialist classicism, has five floors and shows a classic tower with a colonnade at number 82.
