Cholmogorowka ( Russian Холмогоровка , German  Fuchsberg, Fischhausen district / Samland ) is a place in the Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation . It is located in Zelenogradsk Raion and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Zelenogradsk District .

Geographical location

Cholmogorowka is located about two kilometers from the north-western city limits of the Oblast capital Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . The regional road 27A-032 (former German Reichsstrasse 143 ) runs through the village and connects Kaliningrad with Pereslavskoje (Drugehnen) and Swetlogorsk (Rauschen) . In town, the municipal road 27K-179 branches off to Kowrowo (Nautzau) and Zelenogradsk.

Until 1945 there was a rail connection via the nearby train station in Goldschmiede (today Russian: Dimitrowo) to the Samland Railway, which, however, is no longer served. The next train station today is Chkalovsk- Sapadny (Königsberg-Tannenwalde) on the Kaliningrad-Svetlogorsk railway line .

On September 30, 1928, Fuchsberg gave up his independence and merged with the neighboring manor villages of Dammhof, Gallhöfen and Ober Alkehnen (all no longer exist today) as well as Goldschmiede (today Dimitrowo), Prowehren and Strittkeim (both today Tschkalowsk) to form the new rural community Goldschmiede , which from 1939 belonged to the Samland district .

As a result of the war, Fuchsberg came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and in 1947 was given the Russian name "Cholmogorowka". At the same time the place was classified in the village soviet Matrossowski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . The place later came to the Pereslavski selski Sowet in Zelenogradsk Raion . From 2005 to 2015, Kholmogorowka belonged to the rural municipality of Pereslavskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

Fuchsberg was parish before 1945 in the parish of the Evangelical Church Wargen (today Russian: Kotelnikowo ). It belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (today Russian: primorsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
