Dimitrowo ( Russian Димитрово , German  goldsmiths ) is a district of the city of Kaliningrad in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad .

The district is located on the northwestern outskirts of Kaliningrad in its Zentralrajon .

history

Goldsmith was one of the oldest mansions of Samland . The name comes from the first half of the 17th century. In 1608 it was bought by the court president Aurifaber as a summer residence. The governor Ludwig von Auer had bought the large property in 1652. 600 acres of the Great Wilkie forest and 13 jugs and jug lands belonged to it. The 8th majorate in goldsmiths was Andreas Christoph von Auer (1887–1914).

On June 13, 1874, the Goldschmiede estate became the seat and eponymous location of a newly established administrative district that belonged to the Fischhausen district (1939 to 1945 Samland district ) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 there were 175 inhabitants in the goldsmiths estate. In 1928 the Goldschmiede estate was combined with seven neighboring estate districts to form the Goldschmiede rural community. The population of this rural parish was 799 in 1933 and 696 in 1939.

After the Second World War, the place was renamed in 1950 after the Bulgarian communist Georgi Dimitrov in Dimitrovo and at the same time included in the village Soviet Matrossowski in Guryevsk Rajon . Later the place came into the village soviet Pereslavski in Zelenogradsk Raion . Presumably at the end of the 1970s, Dimitrowo was incorporated into the city of Kaliningrad.
