Swjaginzewo ( Russian Звягинцево , German Waschke ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .
Geographical location
Svjaginzewo is 17 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in Seljony las (Grünhoff Forest) on a side road that leads from Schumnoje (Schuphnen) on the regional road 27A-013 (ex A192 ) via Rodniki . 750 meters to the west is the osero Uskoje (Narrow Lake).
history
In its history before 1945, the former residential area Forsthaus Waschke belonged to Gutsdorf Grünhoff (today Russian: Roschtschino) in the district of the same name in the Fischhausen district , from 1939 to 1945 Samland district , in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .
In 1945, Waschke came to the Soviet Union as a place within northern East Prussia . The place was given the Russian name Svjaginzewo in 1950 and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Melnikowski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion . Later the place came into the Muromski selski Sowet . From 2005 to 2015 Svyagintsewo belonged to the rural municipality of Kovrovskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

The almost exclusively Protestant population of Waschke was parish before 1945 in the parish of the village church in Pobethen (today Russian: Romanowo), which belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (today Russian: Primorsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Svyaginzewo is located in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Zelenogradsk (Cranz) , a branch of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
