Jantarowka ( Russian Янтаровка , German  Wangnicken, Fischhausen / Samland district ) is a place in the Kaliningrad Oblast . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .

Geographical location

Jantarowka is 39 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and about six kilometers northeast of Jantarny (Palmnicken) on the regional road 27A-014 (formerly A192). In town, side roads branch off in a westerly direction to Prislowo (Nöttnicken) or in an easterly direction to Storoschewoje (Katzkeim) . There is no train connection.

history

The village, called Wangnicken until 1946 , was founded in 1322 and in 1945 consisted of a few large farms. In 1874 the village was in the newly built office district Holy Kreutz incorporated that the district Fischhausen 1939-1945 for, County Samland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

In 1910 there were 149 inhabitants registered in Wangnicken. On September 30, 1928, the rural community Wangnicken expanded to include the manor district Bersnicken (today Russian: Jagodnoje) and the manor village Heiligenkreutz, which were incorporated. On December 1, 1928 the vicarage of Heiligenkreutz was added, and on the same day the rural community of Wangnicken was renamed Heiligenkreutz.

In 1945 Wangnicken came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . The place was given the Russian name "Jantarowka" in 1947 and was assigned to the village soviet Jantarski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion at the same time . Later the place came into the Powarowski selski Sowet . From 2005 to 2015 Jantarowka belonged to the rural municipality of Krasnotorovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

Wangnicken, with its mostly Protestant population, was incorporated into the parish of the parish church in Heiligenkreutz (today Russian: Krasnotorowka), which belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
