Privolnoje ( Russian Привольное , German Gunthenen ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .
Geographical location
Privolnoje is located 23 kilometers northeast of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) on the municipal road 27K-044, which connects Nekrassowo (Liska-Schaaken) with Chrabrowo (Powunden) . There is no train connection.
history
The village, called Gunthenen until 1946 , was founded in 1299.
In 1874 it was in the newly built office district Lobitten (Russian Today: Lugowskoje) incorporated, which until 1939 the district Königsberg (Prussia) to 1945, from 1939 district Samland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. On April 1, 1939 Gunthenen gave up its independence and was incorporated into the neighboring town of Korreynen (Russian: Dubrawa, now: Chrabrowo ).
As a result of the Second World War , the village came to the Soviet Union due to its location in northeast Prussia . The place received the Russian name Privolnoje again in 1947 and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Novoselski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Later the place came to the Muromski selski Sowet in Zelenogradsk Raion . From 2005 to 2015 Privolnoye belonged to the rural municipality of Kovrovskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

With its almost exclusively Protestant population, Gunthenen was parish before 1945 in the parish of the Church of Powunden (Russian: Chrabrowo ) and thus belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Privolnoye lies in the catchment area of two Evangelical Lutheran congregations that were newly established in the 1990s: Marschalskoje (Gallgarben) and Zelenogradsk (Cranz) . Both are branches of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
