Olchowoje ( Russian Ольховое , German  Korwingen ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .

Geographical location

Olchowoje is located 26 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) and about nine kilometers south of Swetlogorsk (Rauschen) on the municipal road 27K-333 from Gratschowka (Craam) to the municipal road 27K-228 near Listopadowka (Bärholz) . There is no train connection.

history

Gutsdorf, known as Korwingen until 1946 , was founded in 1407. In 1874, it becomes part of the newly built office district cherry Appen (now Russian: Druzhba) in the district Fischhausen in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . On November 8, 1894, the previous Korwingen estate was transformed into the Korwingen estate district . 66 inhabitants were registered here in 1910.

On September 30, 1928 Korwingen gave up its independence and merged with the neighboring towns of Lopsienen (today Russian: Rogatschowo), Mossycken (Russian also: Rogatschowo, but no longer exists) and Syndau (Wodnoje) to form the new rural community of Syndau. This belonged to the administrative district of Sankt Lorenz , which joined the Samland district in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Korwingen and northern East Prussia became part of the Soviet Union in 1945 . In 1950 the place was given the Russian name Olchowoje and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Shatrowski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion . From 2005 to 2015 Olkhovoye belonged to the rural municipality of Krasnotorovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

With its almost exclusively Protestant population before 1945 , Korwingen belonged to the parish of the parish church in Thierenberg (Russian: Dunajewka, no longer exists today) in the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
