Fjodorowo ( Russian Фёдорово , German  Maldaiten ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .

Geographical location

Fyodorowo is located in the east of the Zelenogradsk Raion, 15 kilometers north of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . The place can be reached from Melnikowo (Rudau) in a southerly direction. The nearest train station is Kaschtanowka (Mollehnen) on the Kaliningrad – Zelenogradsk – Pionersky railway (Königsberg – Cranz – Neukuhren) .

The until 1946 Maldaiten Gutsdorf was incorporated into the newly established district of Rudau in 1874. Until 1939 it belonged to the district of Fischhausen , from 1939 to 1945 to the district of Samland in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 there were 305 registered inhabitants in Maldaiten.

Before 1945 the districts of Ekritten (Russian: Wetrowo), Friedrichswalde (Kolzowo), Georgshöhe (Saschitnoje), Jouglauken, Kemsie, Tiedtken (Kortschagino) and Wittehnen (Karassino) belonged to the Maldaiten manor district . On January 14, 1926, Maldaiten was incorporated into Rudau (Melnikowo).

As a result of the war, Maldaiten came to the Soviet Union with all of northern East Prussia in 1945 . The place received the Russian name "Fjodorowo" again in 1950 and was assigned to the village soviet Melnikowsli selski Sowet in Primorsk Rajon . Later Fyodorowo got into the Muromski selski Sowet . From 2005 to 2015 the place belonged to the rural municipality Kovrovskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district Zelenogradsk.

Before 1945 , the mostly Protestant population of Maldaiten was ecclesiastically assigned to the parish village of Rudau (today in Russian: Melnikowo). It was in the parish of Königsberg-Land II within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Fjodorowo is in the catchment area of ​​the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Zelenogradsk (Cranz) , a branch of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELCER).
