Jagodnoje ( Russian Ягодное , German  Bersnicken ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .

Geographical location

Jagodnoje is located 35 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and about five kilometers east of Jantarny (Palmnicken) on the Russian highway A 192 . There is no train connection.

history

Gutsdorf, known as Bersnicken until 1946 , was founded in 1339. In 1874 the place was incorporated into the newly established district of Heiligenkreutz (today Russian: Krasnotorowka). He belonged to the district of Fischhausen (1939 to 1945 district of Samland ) in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 there were 77 inhabitants registered here.

On September 30, 1928, Bersnicken gave up its independence and was incorporated into the rural community Wangnicken (today Russian: Jantarowka), which was renamed "Heiligenkreutz" on December 1, 1928.

As a result of the war, Bersnicken came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . The place received the Russian name "Jagodnoye" again in 1950 and was assigned to the village soviet Jantarski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion at the same time . Later the place came into the Powarowski selski Sowet . From 2005 to 2015 Jagodnoye belonged to the rural municipality of Krasnotorovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

The predominantly Protestant population before 1945 was incorporated into the parish of the parish church in Heiligenkreutz (today Russian: Krasnotorowka), which belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Jagodnoje is in the catchment area of ​​the newly built Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
