Krasnowka ( Russian Красновка , German Markehnen ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .
Geographical location
Krasnowka is located 27 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) on a side road that connects Olchowoje (Korwingen) with the submerged locality Thierenberg (Russian: Dunajewka) near Listopadowka (Bärholz) . There is no train connection.
history
The later Vorwerk , called Markehnen until 1946 , was founded in 1346.
For Gutsbezirk Castle Thierberg (Russian: Dunajewka) the place was in since 1874 duly District Thierberg integrated, the the circle Fischhausen 1939-1945, district Samland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia was assigned. On March 19, 1894 from the Gutsbezirk Castle Thierberg with its outworks Dulack (no longer exists) and Markehnen the Gutsbezirk formed Markehnen. In 1910 it had 87 inhabitants.
Markehen's independence only lasted 34 years; because on September 30, 1928 the manor district of Markehnen merged with the rural communities Arissau and Thierenberg (Russian: Dunajewka, both places no longer exist) and the manor districts Auerhof (no longer existent) and Bärholz (Russian: Listopadowka) to form the new rural community Thierenberg .
As a result of the Second World War , Markehnen came to the Soviet Union within northern East Prussia in 1945 . The place was given the Russian name Krasnovka in 1947 and was assigned to the village soviet Shatrowski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion at the same time . From 2005 to 2015 Krasnovka belonged to the rural municipality of Krasnotorovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

The majority of the population of Markehnens before 1945 was Protestant and belonged to the parish of the parish church in Thierenberg (Russian: Dunajewka, no longer exists) in the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Krasnowka is in the catchment area of the newly established Evangelical Lutheran Resurrection Church parish in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
