Korchagino ( Russian Корчагино , German  Tiedtken ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .

Geographical location

Korchagino is located 17 kilometers north of the Oblast capital Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and eleven kilometers south of the Rajons capital Zelenogradsk (Cranz) and can be reached from Melnikowo (Rudau) via the side road Kaschtanowka - Nisowka (Mollehnen - Nadrau) . The nearest train station is Kaschtanowka on the Kaliningrad – Zelenogradsk – Pionersky railway line (Königsberg – Cranz – Neukuhren) .

The village, called Tiedtken until 1946, was once a Vorwerk to Maldaiten (today Russian: Fjodorowo) in the district of Rudau (Melnikowo) in the district of Fischhausen , 1939 to 1945 district of Samland in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . After Maldaiten was incorporated into Rudau in 1926, Tiedtken was also part of the municipality of Rudau until 1945.

As a result of the Second World War , Tiedtken came to the Soviet Union with all of northern East Prussia . The place was given the Russian name "Korchagino" in 1950 and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Melnikowski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion . Later the place came into the Muromski selski Sowet . From 2005 to 2015 Korchagino belonged to the rural municipality of Kovrovskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

The majority of the population of Tiedtken was Protestant before 1945 and the place was incorporated into the parish of Rudau (today in Russian: Melnikowo). It was in the parish of Königsberg-Land II within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Korchagino is in the catchment area of ​​the newly established Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Zelenogradsk (Cranz) , which is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
