The Sparkasse Iserlohn was founded in 1836. It was one of the first savings banks in Westphalia and initially resided in the Renteistube in the town hall. In the 1950s and 1960s, the bank set up branches in all of the larger Iserlohn districts. After the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1975, the Sparkasse Iserlohn, the Amtssparkasse Hennen , which had existed since 1867, and the Sparkasse Letmathe, founded in 1905, merged to become the Sparkasse der Stadt Iserlohn on January 1, 1976.
