Special Agent Oso (original title Special Agent Oso ) is an animated series by writer Ford Riley and director Jamie Mitchell, shot from 2008 in the United States . The series was initially broadcast on Playhouse Disney in German-speaking countries . Since the station was discontinued, the series has been broadcast on its successor, Disney Junior . The series has been shown on German-language free TV since January 11, 2010 on Super RTL .
Directed by Jamie Mitchell until 2011 and Kelly Ward since 2011. The series' main screenwriters are Ford Riley and Noelle Wright (2009-2010) and Krista Tucker and John Loy (2009-2011). The series' theme song was nominated for the Daytime Entertainment Emmy in the Outstanding Original Song category. The target group are children between the ages of two and seven.

The action of the individual episodes is closely based on a framework that always remains the same .
At the beginning of each episode, Oso completes a training session with one of his trainers , who first explain exactly what to do. After Oso starts the exercise, a fade is made to a child who is getting into an everyday problem . This is picked up by a satellite that reports the problem to Oso's client, the secret organization UNIQUE ( The United Network for the Investigation of Quite Unusual Events ).
As a result, Oso is shown who makes a mistake in the training session and comments with the words "It's all part of the plan - more or less". At this moment a call comes in from Mr. Heimlich who has a "special order" for Oso. This consists of helping the child with their everyday tasks. Oso asks the watching child whether they will help him with the task and the paw pilots what the three steps are to solve the task. The paw pilot instructs Oso in the solution of the task with the song “Drei kleine Steps” (Three little steps) . Oso has to solve the task with the help of various technical aids and the spectator. In the last step, a clock counts down.
After solving the task, Oso returns to the training session. Now he solves them without any problems, since he learned something during the special assignment that will help him solve the training task. Oso confirms to the watching child that he would not have made it without his help, then the paw guide repeats the song, this time as confirmation of the success. Oso receives a “special order digimedal” from Mr. Heimlich for the execution of the order, which he accepts on behalf of the watching child who helped him to solve the case. In addition, he receives a training medal for successfully completed training.

Oso, the protagonist of the series, is a stuffed panda who works as an agent for the secret organization UNIQUE, an organization of stuffed animals that aims to help children cope with everyday tasks. According to the broadcaster, Ford Riley came up with the idea for Special Agent Oso when he was watching a James Bond movie , his son came along and was immediately fascinated. Since he didn't think the film was suitable for his son in retrospect, he came up with the idea of a series for children that takes up the agent theme, but is age-appropriate and does not contain dangerous situations. The idea of coping with everyday tasks also came to him while observing his children.
The program is broadcast in double episodes, with the titles of the individual episodes being based on titles from James Bond films.
