In addition to mechanical engineering, the company also ran a forge with a locksmith's shop at the same address . In the address book from 1900 the company is only named as a plumber , is now at Engelbostelerdamm 21b and is only a fire engine factory, but no longer a blacksmith or metalworking shop. In the address book of 1892 and 1910 the factory is not or is no longer mentioned.

  • Only a few days after the establishment of the volunteer fire brigade in Bredelem am Harz , the newly acquired manual pressure syringe from Spengler & Lohmann was received on July 27, 1894 at the local “court of the economist and fire chief Gottfried Bruer (today Scherb)” and the following day Tested on Sunday in the presence of "Mr. Spengler". The syringe that was purchased for 1,350 marks at the time (approx. 13,311 euros for 2014) had a water flow rate of 200 liters per minute. On October 14th of that year, the syringe and its handling were checked to everyone's satisfaction in the presence of the then district fire director Gerloff, as the Goslarsche Zeitung reported. More than 120 years after its acquisition, the Spengler syringe was still in the possession of FF Bredelem.
  • In 1896, the mayor of Höver at Sehnde taught about a more modern fire engine during a community meeting. After consulting Spengler & Lohmann, he inspected the finished shell of their fire engine “No. 4 ”, which was to be purchased for 1,300 Marks and subsidized by the Landschaftliche Brandkasse Hannover .
  • Even today, there is for example in the listed and in 1871 built historic shed the only decades later founded volunteer fire department of Wedemark hamlet Resse an original, as " vintage " of horses to be drawn, 1976 overhauled and fully functional hand pressure sprayer as the vehicle for several firefighters and a company badge of the "Syringe Factory by Chr. Spengler, Inh. W. Spengler, Hanover".

Other fire brigades equipped by Spengler were, for example, the Hanoverian district of Davenstedt (1902) and Sehlem , located in the district of Hildesheim (1902). The entire south of the province of Hanover was within the company's sphere of influence beyond the city of Hanover .
