geography

Geographical location

The place is west of Scherenbostel , north of the Langenhagener district Engelbostel , northeast of the city Garbsen , east of the city Neustadt am Rübenberge and south of Negenborn . The Lönswinkel settlement (east of the K 102) and the Resse Vorwerk to the west belong to Resse . The hamlet Rhodopark but just south belongs politically to Garbsen. Nearby are the Black Moor and the Otternhagen Moor .

history

First mention, place name

The first mention of the place name is ascribed to the 11th century, when the area of today's place "Hrokke" (back = hill; or "rook") was called, but this should not yet represent a settlement. Around 1232 there was a Luderus de Rocze in the Mariensee monastery . In 1438 a thank you note appears in a tax list that came from “deme Resse” (= the back). The thesis that the “laceilgereshus” mentioned in 990 when the dioceses of Minden and Hildesheim were drawn is supposed to stand for Resse. "Resse" later became "Reße" and then "Resse" again.

Local development

The village of Resse has developed from six farms into a residential area in the countryside since the time before the First World War .

The founders of farms No. 1–6
  1. Jobst Gosewisch (1650–1728), now houses a farm shop
  2. Henrich Moorhoff († 1697)
  3. Johann Deicke († 1689)
  4. Heinrich Riechers († 1682), still houses the Heidegasthof Löns today
  5. Hanß Steinwart († 1677)
  6. Hans Klingemann (1656–1739)

coat of arms

The Resse municipal coat of arms was designed by the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who designed all the coats of arms in the Hanover region. The approval of the coat of arms was granted on January 29, 1970 by the district president in Lüneburg.

Resse coat of arms
Blazon : " Divided by a slanted silver bar ,an eight-spoke, silver wagon wheel in green above,a silver wolf's tang below in black ."
Justification for the coat of arms: Both the wagon wheel and the crossbar symbolize the customs station that existed in earlier times, as well as the trade route that used to run through Resse and which led from southern Germany via Stade to the Elbe . The wolf angel shown in the lower part of the coat of arms is intended to symbolize the solidarity and affiliation of the community with the Burgdorf district .

On September 3rd, 2011 the moor information center MOORiZ of the Hanover region was inaugurated in Resse . The building is on the open space between the church and the village street. The Hanover region made the funds available from economic development program 2. After completion, the building became the property of the municipality of Wedemark . The operation of the MOORiZ is taken over by the citizens' association. On an area of around 350 m², a permanent exhibition will focus on the subject of moor - and here in particular - the theme of the Hanoverian moorland . In the lecture room, which is also planned, lectures, meetings and readings, primarily on the subject of moorland and nature, but also from other cultural areas, are offered. Interested groups and organizations have the opportunity to present themselves in the MOORiZ. In the summer of 2012 a small bog was created.

Two GVH bus routes serve six stops in Resse. There are connections to the surrounding villages of Engelbostel , Negenborn and Bissendorf as well as Hanover . Since the closure of two farms in 1977, the L 380 has passed through the town, in the north to Negenborn and in the south to Engelbostel. This thoroughfare was narrowed in 1992 by parking bays and median strips to calm the traffic. The K 102 runs west through the Resse-Lönswinkel settlement to Bissendorf.

Route 24

Remains of the old Reichsautobahn route 24 can be found in Resse (Hartbruch) .
