Plumhof is a village in the municipality of Wedemark in the Hanover region of Lower Saxony and belongs to the Berkhof district .

geography

The place is about 20 km north of Hanover directly on the Hanover - Soltau railway line .

history

The cattle mill existed in Plumhof between 1575 and 1929 . This was a watermill located on the Große Beeke , which was also included in the coat of arms of the former municipality of Berkhof in the Burgdorf district designed by Gustav Völker . Plumhof belonged to the Burgdorf district from 1929 (previously an independent municipality) until it was merged with 15 other municipalities to form the municipality of Wedemark on March 1, 1974. In 1900 a compulsory fire brigade was founded in Plumhof, which existed until the merger with the Berkhofer compulsory fire brigade to form the Berkhof volunteer fire brigade in 1942. On December 1, 1910, Plumhof had 93 residents.

Today Plumhof is a part of the Wedemärker district Berkhof.

The local council is jointly responsible for the districts Bennemühlen , Berkhof (with Plumhof and Sprockhof ) and Oegenbostel (with Bestebostel and Ibsingen ) and consists of two councilors and five councilors.

Economy and Infrastructure

Plumhof as well as the whole of Wedemark are largely shaped by agriculture. Livestock farming in particular dominates.

Wedemark-Plumhof is not far from the federal motorway 7 , west of the Berkhof exit. Some federal highways run nearby . The next train station on the Hanover-Soltau route is Bennemühlen . The distance to Hanover-Langenhagen Airport is just under 20 km.
