coat of arms

The design of the coat of arms of Scherenbostel comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who was born in Isernhagen and later lived in Hanover , and who has already designed the coats of arms of Großburgwedel , Mellendorf , Wunstorf and many other localities. The approval of the coat of arms was granted by the district president in Lüneburg on June 18, 1970.

Scherenbostel coat of arms
Blazon : “In red over a silver bar an upright ploughshare , accompanied on the right by a golden oak leaf with two acorns , on the left by a golden ear with two leaves. In the sign foot a silver wolf Angel . "
Justification of the coat of arms: The three symbols above are supposed to show that today's municipality of Scherenbostel emerged from the places Scherenbostel , Schlage-Ickhorst and Wiechendorf . The oak leaf wants to point out that almost all courtyards in Wiechendorf are surrounded by oaks. The place Scherenbostel derives its name from the ploughshare . The golden ear is supposed to represent the rural character of the district of Schlage-Ickhorst . The silver bar is a reminder that a trade route from north to south runs through the municipality from ancient times, which was already important in earlier centuries and still has it today as a federal highway. The silver wolf tang expresses the community's ties with the Burgdorf district .
