Meitze coat of arms
Blazon : "In green two diagonally crossed, silver wolf-rods , in the upper corner of which a golden bee floats , in the lowercornera stalked, golden oak leaf with two acorns ."
Explanation of the coat of arms: The crossed wolf angels underline the affiliation to the Burgdorf district and, through their intersection, symbolize the crossing of two old trade routes in Meitze; one, the Hessenweg, led from Hamburg to southern Germany, the other connected Bremen with central Germany. In the early years of Meitze there was a lot of beekeeping, so that is why the bee was included in the coat of arms. The oak leaf with the acorns is a reminder that the population of old oaks in Meitze is much larger than in other places in this area.
