League takeover

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Major League acquisition is the process in which a sports club takes the player to participate in a higher league by another club.

Table tennis

example

One such league takeover happened in German professional table tennis in 2009, when the TTV Gönnern club , which had previously played in the top German DTTL league, withdrew from professional sport and transferred the eligibility to play for this class to the previous district class club TG Hanau .

In 2004 Hannover 96 integrated the table tennis department of TSV Kirchrode and took over their play classes.

requirements

The requirements for a league transfer in the DTTL are regulated in the Bundesliga regulations (BLO) of the DTTB in section C4.4:

" 4.4

League takeover If a club takes over the league classes of another club with the consent of the respective regional or member association, the club taking over receives the right to participate for the BL only if all fees and contributions have been paid that the club taken over owes the DTTB.

In the event of a merger, all fees and contributions of the associations involved in the merger must be paid. "

The approval of the member association to which the club taking over belongs is required first. In the example above, the Hessian association TG Hanau had applied for the takeover. Therefore, the Hessian Table Tennis Association (HTTV) had to be asked. This is where the competition rules of HTTV Section 7.8.1.2 apply:

" 7.8.1.2 League transfer in the event of a split

If a club (department) is split up, the game committee decides on the class affiliation after the lower level has given its opinion. A split is not a complete transition.

A league transfer is only possible if all the players in a team who have contributed to the target strength have left the previous club or their playing rights have been canceled.

If not all players of the team in question change to one club, but to different ones, only one club can take over the class if more than 50% of the players in the team in question have changed to this club. "

In the example, more than 50 percent of the players switched from patrons to Hanau. Therefore, first the HTTV and then the DTTL league committee agreed to the takeover.

The statutes of the West German Table Tennis Association (WTTV) prohibit such a league transfer for clubs that belong to the WTTV.

Soccer

In football, a league takeover comes into consideration if clubs merge or if the football department is outsourced and joins a new club. The prerequisite for a league transfer is that most of the players from the previous club become active in the new club. The new club must apply to the responsible association to transfer the league in due time.

One example is the women's team at MSV Duisburg , which took over the players from the insolvent FCR 2001 Duisburg club on January 1, 2014 . On December 27, 2013, the DFB approved the transfer of gaming rights. (see FCR 2001 Duisburg # insolvency and end of FCR and MSV Duisburg (women's football) # establishment of the department )

Handball

The responsible handball associations can transfer the playing rights of a club that ceases to play or dissolves to another applicant club. However, the 1st Bundesliga , 2nd Bundesliga and Regional League are excluded from this regulation .

In the case of the formation of a syndicate or the merger of several clubs to form a new club, the teams of the old clubs remain in their divisions, but only one team from the new club (or syndicate) may be represented in one division, with the provincial associations exceptions allow.

chess

In chess , the responsible national association can allow a team to take over the division.

One example is the former Bundesliga club SK Zähringen 1921 , which played in the Baden Oberliga until it was dissolved in 2007. Under the new name SK Freiburg-Zähringen 1887 , the team continued to compete in the major league in coordination with the Baden Chess Association .
