Giuseppe Spitali

Giuseppe Spitali (born October 2, 1979 ) is a former Italian football player who played three second division games for MSV Duisburg and otherwise worked in amateur football. In 2014 he started a career as a coach .

Player career

The striker Spitali ran for the amateur club FV Bad Honnef as a young adult until he moved to FC Remscheid in the summer of 1999 . This was previously relegated to the fourth-class Oberliga Nordrhein . He remained loyal to Remscheid for two years and had to accept relegation again with his team at the end of the 2000/01 season . The then 21-year-old player himself did not have to go into the lower league, however, as he was committed to the second division MSV Duisburg for the new 2001/02 season . There he was initially intended for the second team of the club and thus continued to play in the top division. On April 28, 2002 he was considered for the first time in a 1: 4 defeat against Hannover 96 for the professional game and reached his second division debut by substituting in the 66th minute. This was followed by two more short appearances at the beginning of 2003, which meant he had three games in the 2nd Bundesliga without scoring himself. He was unable to make another breakthrough in professional football, instead he was part of the second team until 2004 and then moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he was also scheduled for the amateur team.

He was unable to assert himself with the Leverkusen amateurs, left them again in 2005 and then remained temporarily without a club. For the second half of the 2005/06 season, he joined the Mittelrheinische Verbandsligisten TSV Germania Windeck and moved to Germania Geyen the following summer . From 2007 he ran for FC Junkersdorf from Cologne, but already in 2008, when he was signed by SV Bergisch Gladbach 09 , another club change took place. With this he made the jump from the association to the NRW league in 2008/09 . After the end of his contract in 2010, he was temporarily without an employer and was then hired again at FC Junkersdorf. In 2011 he was promoted to the NRW League with this one more time. However, the starting place in this league was taken over by the recently founded FC Viktoria Köln , to which Spitali then switched. The club, which has received massive financial support, made it through to the regional league in 2012 with his help, for which Spitali did not receive a new contract. Therefore, he decided to move to FC Bergheim 2000 in the regional league. As captain, he led him to promotion to the Oberliga Mittelrhein in 2014.

Career as a coach

At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he gave up his playing career and took over the position of coach at his previous employer, FC Bergheim 2000. However, he could not prevent the promoted team from being placed at the bottom of the table and relegation a few game days before the end of the season. In April 2015 he gave up his first coaching position, which he justified with the club's lack of professionalism in dealing with the sporting situation.
