Sportfreunde Uevekoven (officially: Sportfreunde 1930 Uevekoven eV ) is a sports club from the Wegberg district of Uevekoven in the Heinsberg district . The association was founded on April 7, 1930. The first women's soccer team once took part in the DFB Cup .

Women's soccer
In 1993, the Sportfreunde provided a women's team for the first time. Just four years later, the team was promoted to the Landesliga Mittelrhein, but had to relegate again after a year. This was followed by a direct resurgence, which was followed by promotion to the Mittelrhein Association League in 2001. Here, too, sports fans had to relegate after a year. In 2004 they made another leap into the association league, where the team came third in 2007 and 2012. Sportfreunde also won the Middle Rhine Cup in 2012 with a 2-1 final victory over Fortuna Cologne .
This qualified the team for the DFB Cup, where the Uevekovenerinnen lost 3-1 to VfL Sindelfingen in the first round . In 2013, the team was runner-up in the Middle Rhine League behind the second team of 1. FC Cologne and lost to Fortuna Cologne in the final of the Middle Rhine Cup with 1: 2 after extra time . A year later, the Sportfreunde were again runner-up in the Middle Rhine League, this time behind Fortuna Cologne. In 2016 he was promoted to the Regionalliga West as champions . Two years later, the sports friends got down again.
Men's soccer
The men of Sportfreunde Uevekoven only played at the district level for decades before they were promoted to the district league for the first time in 1998. Four years later, the Uevekovener runners-up in the district league behind Alemannia Mariadorf . After a 6: 3 play-off win after extra time over SV Eilendorf , they were promoted to the Middle Rhine regional league . In 2004 the Sportfreunde went back to the district league and six years later had to go to the district league A. After the promotion in 2014, the Sportfreunde played again in the district league, before it went back down to the district league A three years later.
