history

After the end of the First World War , the club was renamed "Sportverein 1914 Eilendorf" and incorporated into the West German Gaming Association. Already in the first year it was possible to move up directly from the C to the B class. On January 1, 1921, FC Rhenania Eilendorf joined SV 1914. After a lease for today's sports ground on Halfenstrasse (formerly Rathausstrasse) was signed in 1928, the site was given its new purpose on December 9, 1928. In the 1930/31 season, the SC 1914 played for the first time in the district class . During the Second World War , only friendly matches were held as a rule , and regular games only resumed after the war.

The SV Eilendorf succeeded in the season 1947/48 promotion to the highest amateur class , but could not hold the class and rose to the 1st district class . It was not until 1951 that he returned to the top amateur league, which in turn was relegated the following season. After a further descent into the district league the club in the 1953/54 season after a successful playoff against Dürwiß promotion to the Landesliga Mittelrhein he could hold eleven years and then 1966/67 the renewed descent followed in the district league. In the meantime, the SV 1914 managed to penetrate the DFB club cup level to the Middle Rhine and West German association level. For the inauguration of the new stadium on Halfenstrasse on June 1, 1972, he played a game against the national team of Malaysia , which was also one of the participants in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich , in front of 3500 spectators .

It was not until 1979/80 that SV Eilendorf rose again to the regional league and two years later, second in the table, with a win in the decider against Borussia Kalk, it was even able to gain promotion to the Mittelrhein association league , which could only be held for one year. In 1983/84 the SVE failed as runner-up in the table when it returned to the association league. Since then, in the following decades, after a downturn to the district league A, membership of the district or state league has been changing steadily. In the 2011/12 season he also won the district cup, which entitles him to participate in the Middle Rhine Cup. A season later, SV Eilendorf was drawn to Alemannia Aachen in the first round of the cup . The game should first be played on the home field, but was moved to the New Tivoli due to safety concerns , with the SV being granted home rights. The game took place on October 13, 2012 in front of 3900 spectators and SV lost the game 0-5. The SV ended the 2012/13 season of the Landesliga Mittelrhein as promoted to second place in the table. A year later, in a dramatic season finale, the first promotion to the Oberliga Mittelrhein followed . In the 2014/15 season, a remarkable 8th place enabled him to stay in the Middle Rhine League and thus the greatest success in the club's history. In the second season of the Middle Rhine League, SVE had to go back to the regional league due to serious injury problems. Despite persistent injury concerns, he achieved a good sixth place in the regional league group 2.

In 1926, Willi Bohlen founded a handball department at SV 1914 Eilendorf, which reached the top German league in 1931. Five years later, operations had to be closed due to a lack of young people. It was only after the Second World War that operations could be restarted and the club restarted in 1948 in the district league, which it was able to hold until it was promoted to the regional league in 1965. At the end of the 1965/66 season, the SV Eilendorf was tied with TV Roetgen and the BTB Aachen at the top of the table, but he did not make it to the top division in the relegation games. For the 1967/68 season the SV played in the new association league, but rose again in 1970. Since then, the membership of the handball department has fluctuated between regional and regional leagues. She currently belongs to the district league.
