history

The club was founded in 1910 as FC Victoria Breinig , which took its current name in the spring of 1919. In the early 1930s, the Breiniger played in the third-class 2nd district class Rhine . After the end of the Second World War , the club started playing in the 2nd district class from 1948 and commuted between 1st and 2nd district class in the following decades. 1973 succeeded for the first time promotion to the district class, which could be held until 1977. Two years later, the rise succeeded.

In the now called district league, the Breiniger were runner-up in 1986 and 1989, before the team in 1994 had to go back down to the district league A. The immediate resurgence followed in the 1995/96 season by marching through to the national league . The relegation failed, but the team managed in the following season 1997/98 the direct promotion. Back in the national league, the team was third in 2005 and 2006, before the team fell back into mediocrity. In 2015, the Breinig runners-up behind the Spvg Wesseling-Urfeld and rose to the Middle Rhine League for the first time. After only one year, the direct relegation followed, followed by the renewed promotion in 2017.
