The Spielvereinigung Wesseling-Urfeld 19/46 eV is a football club from the city of Wesseling in the Rhein-Erft district in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia . It is one of the six soccer clubs in the city with the largest and most successful men's team.

history

The association was founded on July 1, 2000 through a merger of the two district associations founded in 1919 and 1946 from Wesseling-Mitte and Urfeld , the SV Wesseling and Blau-Weiß Urfeld . The aim was to establish a strong football club for the entire city of Wesseling. The first men's team was relegated from the Middle Rhine League to the State League in 2013 . Two years later, the promotion succeeded before it went back down to the national league in 2018.

The women's team has played in the Women's Middle Rhine League since the 2016/2017 season.

Stadion

The club plays its home games in the urban Ulrike Meyfarth Stadium in the city center. As an athletics stadium , it is part of an extensive complex of various sports and gaming facilities and is also connected to a large youth stadium with artificial turf and the municipal swimming pool .
