Sprengelkiez

The Sprengelkiez is a district in the Berlin district of Wedding in the Mitte district .

The name is derived from Sprengelstrasse, which runs through the middle of the neighborhood . It was named in 1897 after the German botanist Christian Konrad Sprengel . More than 14,000 people live here, which corresponds to a population density of 230 inhabitants per hectare (i.e. 23,000 per km²).

The quarter is also known as the Sparrplatz -Quartier , whereby this is mainly used in connection with the public quarter management .
