Amrumer Straße underground station

The Amrumer Straße is opened on Aug. 28, 1961 Station of the Berlin U-Bahn - Line U9 . It is 761 meters from Leopoldplatz underground station and 820 meters from Berlin Westhafen train station . The station is located underground in the district Wedding of the Mitte district and contributes in station list of the BVG the abbreviation Am .

The station has two exits at the ends of a central platform that lead into an access hall, and a butterfly ceiling typical of the original line G, which is flat in the southern part of the station and was built with a girder. The reason for this unusual ceiling construction is that, according to the planning at the time , the west bypass should run through this part of the city and would have crossed the underground line at this point. The central supports are covered with mosaic stones that are brownish gray. The concrete walls are exclusively painted dark blue and have light green glass surfaces a few meters apart, which are composed of 80 glass rectangles.

In the immediate vicinity of the underground station are the Charité's Virchow Clinic Campus , the Berlin-Brandenburg Welding Training and Research Institute , the Atze Music Theater and the Beuth University of Technology .

At the underground station you can change from the U9 line to the 142 and 221 bus lines operated by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe.
