Srećko Puntarić

Srećko Puntarić (* 1952 in Zagreb , Croatia , formerly Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian cartoonist and author .

Life

Srećko Puntarić was born in Zagreb in 1952. He studied mechanical engineering and shipbuilding at the University of Zagreb . Puntarić published his first caricatures in the satirical newspaper Kerempuh in 1975. Since that time his drawings have appeared in almost all daily and weekly newspapers. His first long-term collaboration was with the sports magazines SN Revija and Sprint . From 1986 Puntarić worked with the Croatian weekly newspaper Vjesnik . His caricature FELIX has appeared regularly since 1995 in the Croatian weekly Večernji list and in the Roman Catholic weekly Glas Koncila of the Archdiocese of Zagreb .

Up to now, Puntarić has worked internationally with the German satirical magazine Eulenspiegel (Magazin) as well as with the Swiss satirical magazine Nebelspalter . Srećko Puntarić is a member of the Community of Croatian Cartoonists ULUPUH and the Community of European Cartoonists FECO . From 1990 to 1992, Puntarić worked with the Zagreb Film studio and made the animated film TV FELIX . In addition, Srećko Puntarić has published 27 books about his work so far. He is the founder of the first gallery for humor and caricature under the name Felix Fun Factory in Croatia. The gallery was opened in Zagreb in 1994.

Awards

Srećko Puntarić took part in almost all exhibitions and competitions in the field of cartoonism. He has received thirty prizes so far. Amongst other things:

  • 1984 1st prize in Vercelli , Italy
  • 1986 the GRAND PRIX in Istanbul , Turkey
  • 1987 the GRAND PRIX in Knokke-Heist , Belgium
  • 1987 an award ceremony in Tokyo , Japan
  • 1988 2nd prize in Foligno , Italy
  • 1989 2nd prize in Amsterdam , Netherlands
  • 1993 an award ceremony in Berlin , Germany

Exhibitions

Srećko Puntarić presented his works to the public at home and abroad. There were exhibitions abroad in Vienna , Bern and Budapest . So far over twenty exhibitions have taken place in Croatia, including in the cities of Bjelovar , Čakovec , Koprivnica , Krapina , Slavonski Brod , Varaždin and Zagreb.
