Professional career

Wisaksil Wangek started his professional career in 2009 and scored only one win in his first five fights. He then remained undefeated in 26 fights and won the WBC super flyweight title against Yōta Satō on May 3, 2013 , which he was able to defend once. In May 2014 he lost the title in Mexico due to a technical decision to Carlos Cuadras . After a collision with the heads Cuadras could not continue fighting whereupon, after a point deduction against Wangek, the evaluation of the points sheet came, on which Cuadras was just ahead.

However, by 15 subsequent victories Wangek recommended again for a WBC title fight in the super flyweight on March 18, 2017 Madison Square Garden of New York City . He completely surprisingly defeated the undefeated world champion Roman Gonzalez by majority decision on points. Gonzalez was considered the best boxer by Ring Magazine at the time, regardless of weight class . The rematch took place on September 9, 2017 at the StubHub Center in Carson , California . Wangek won by knockout in the fourth round.

In his second title defense, he defeated Juan Francisco Estrada in February 2018 and was subsequently listed as number 1 in the world rankings by Ring Magazine. However, he lost the rematch against Estrada in April 2019 on points.
