Strongest man in Germany
The strongest man in Germany (German Strongman Championship) is a national strongman competition that takes place annually in Germany. The competition has been organized by the GFSA (German Federation of Strength Athletes) since 2001. The record holder with twelve wins is Heinz Ollesch .
League structure
In Germany there are the Germany Cups (2nd division) and the German Pro League (1st division). Points are collected over the entire season.
The top five of the Germany Cups can advance to the German Pro League (1st league), the top three must advance. All ascending athletes receive the Pro Card. The overall winner can call himself Germany Cup Champion and receives an extra award at the final.
The German Pro League Cups qualify for the German Championship (Germany's strongest man). The top twelve of the German Pro League (1st league) ranking are qualified for the German championship. The winner of the open German championship receives the title: "Strongest Man in Germany", "Strongest Man of Germany". The top three of the German championship qualify for the Strongman Champions League at FIBO .
