Stéphane Bahoken (born May 28, 1992 in Grasse ) is a French football player of Cameroon origin.

Club career

Bahoken grew up near the city of Nice in the south of France , where he started playing football at two local clubs before joining the youth team at the OGC Nice professional club in 2004 at the age of twelve . There he moved up to the reserve team for the 2010/11 season; he reached his first division debut at the end of the same season when he came on as a substitute on May 29, 2011, one day after his 19th birthday and on the last day of the game at 1: 2 against Valenciennes FC in the 79th minute. In the course of the following year he came back to sporadic missions and was equipped with a professional contract at the beginning of the 2012/13 season. Subsequently, he played an increased role in the first selection, even if he was substituted on as a joker in most cases; In his first official professional year, the attacker was twice successful in front of the goal.

In the summer of 2013 it was awarded to the Scottish first division club FC St. Mirren , but could not prevail in this. In view of this, he returned to Nice at the end of the year and was loaned to the French second division CA Bastia, based in Corsica , on January 1, 2014 . The change had to be canceled shortly thereafter, as he had played competitive games for both Nice's reserve and St. Mirren during the 2013/14 season and the statutes of the French league association only allow appearances for a maximum of two clubs. This initially resulted in his immediate return to Nice before being awarded again to St. Mirren on January 3rd. Shortly afterwards he was injured, played no role in the further course of the season and started his return journey to Nice as planned in the summer of 2014, before being handed over to third division team Racing Strasbourg shortly afterwards . He was then regularly called up in Strasbourg and marched through to Ligue 1 with the club in 2017 .

National team

In preparation for the U-20 World Cup 2013 , he was considered for the first time for a national selection of the country through his appointment to the French U-20. For the same he made his debut on May 28, 2013 at the Toulon tournament ; in the game on his 21st birthday he was substituted on in the 76th minute and was able to celebrate a 4-1 win against the USA. In the following days he played in other games. He has been playing for the Cameroon national team since 2018 .
