Vincent Manceau (born July 10, 1989 in Angers ) is a French football player .

Career

Youth and first years in Angers (until 2010)

Manceau grew up in the western French city of Angers and was accepted into the youth of the local professional club SCO Angers at the age of six . The player, who is at home in the defensive midfield, went through all age groups and made it into the second division team in preparation for the 2008/09 season. On August 15, 2008 he replaced Mickaël Stéphan at halftime in a 3-0 win against CS Sedan and made his professional debut in the second-highest French division at the age of 19. In the following time he had to be content with sporadic substitutions until he was part of the starting XI for the first time in January 2010. However, he was in the competition for the position in defensive midfield only in fourth place and accordingly remained a substitute.

Path to the first team at Angers (from 2010)

For the 2010/11 season, his situation improved within the team that was always playing for promotion, as he was able to represent various colleagues in midfield and defense due to his versatility. When his direct competitor Stéphan left Angers during the winter break, this made it possible for him to take up regular assignments in his traditional position. In the course of 2011 he established himself as an integral part of the team, even if he was partly intended as a substitute. In the summer of 2013, the now 24-year-old made the final breakthrough to become a regular player at his hometown club SCO, but had to witness the repeated failure of the dream of promotion the following year. In 2015, however, the team made the leap to first class. On August 8, 2015, he made his debut in a 2-0 win against HSC Montpellier in France's top division and remained an integral part of the first team, but missed the final phase of the season. After a very good start, the newcomer ultimately finished ninth in the table.
