The night raid by the British RAF on 14/15 March 1945 on the mineral oil works Lützkendorf and its surroundings led to heavy bomb hits in the Pauline pit and on the western edge of Stöbnitz. The Bach manor was badly affected and there was considerable damage to residential and farm buildings. 25 oxen of the livestock were lost.
The advancing lignite mining in the Geiseltal moved to the eastern outskirts in the 1970s. The place itself was only partially affected by the devastation .
